Day 1: Our team will meet you in Quito, early in the morning; our private transportation will be waiting to take us on a 4 hour ride south of the country to the Chimborazo Fauna Production Reserve. Here you will be able to admire the Vicuña, an Andean endemic specie. The car will take us up to the first refugee, the Hermanos Carrel, at 4,800 meters above sea level. Lunch will be served and in the afternoon we will ascend up to the Whimper Refugee at 5.000 meters. Dinner will be served and everyone will rest until 10pm. A light breakfast is served before leaving the refugee with all our equipment.
Day 2: At 11pm we’ll already be on our way… it will take us around 8 hours to get to the first summit “Veintimilla” at 6,270m and one more hour to the Whymper summit at 6,310m, a perfect place to admire the Andes and take spectacular photographs. We will need another 3 hours to head back to the Whymper camp where we will pack our things and head down to Hermanos Carrel and from there , it’s back to Quito.
